Hecla CEO Discusses Plans for Keno Hill

At a press conference about Hecla’s acquisition of Alexco Resource Corp., Hecla CEO Phil Baker discussed the Company’s plans for Keno Hill and pledged a commitment to the local community. “At the end of the day, we’re going to care for the environment, we’re going to care for the local communities that we work with,” he said.
Yukon Government’s Minister of Economic Development Ranj Pillai released a statement congratulating Hecla on the acquisition. “Silver is a critical element to decarbonize the economy and the need for domestic supply is growing. The Keno Hill Silver District creates the opportunity for a robust company like Hecla to further meet this need with a secure high-grade silver development and an exploration project that has a small environmental footprint.”
