Supporting Local Students Through Partnership with the UQAT Foundation
Hecla is proud to work alongside amazing community partners, like the Hecla-Quebec Global Development Fund (UQAT Foundation– Fondation de l’Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue). We are the leading partner of the Fund, which provides scholarships in support of work-life balance, return to school, perseverance, and success-training programs. Every year, Hecla Quebec gives back $1 CAD per ounce of gold produced at the Casa Berardi mine to support the Foundation. In 2024 we donated $66,000 USD to the Foundation and awarded scholarships to 69 students. Since 2009, Hecla Quebec has donated over $2 million USD to the Foundation.
