Steve Rowles
Vice President – General Manager, Keno Hill Operations
Steve Rowles was appointed Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Keno Hill Operations in April 2026. Prior to joining Hecla, Mr. Rowles held General Manager roles with Coeur Mining at both the Kensington Mine in Alaska and the Silvertip Mine in British Columbia. Before that, he spent 13 years with Rio Tinto in progressively senior roles, including at the Diavik Diamond Mine in Canada’s Northwest Territories, where he developed deep expertise in underground mining and operating in remote, subarctic conditions. He began his career in underground mine engineering roles across New Zealand, Australia, and Laos. Mr. Rowles holds a degree in mining engineering from the University of Ballarat.
