Greens Creek’s Commitment to Cancer Awareness & Fundraising

At Hecla’s Greens Creek operation, the maintenance team recently refurbished an underground loader, transforming it into a powerful symbol of support for those affected by cancer. Repainted in purple and grey and fitted with welded awareness ribbons, the machine now serves as a visible reminder across the site that no one faces cancer alone.
This effort builds on Hecla’s ongoing commitment to cancer awareness through its annual fundraiser at Greens Creek. Each year, employee sweatshirt sales benefit Cancer Connection in Juneau, AK, with proceeds of up to $5,000 matched dollar-for-dollar by the Hecla Charitable Foundation, resulting in a total annual donation of $10,000.
