Hecla’s Director of Indigenous Affairs & Canadian Community Relations Loralee Johnstone recently participated in the Mining Camp & Community Safety Forum hosted by the Yukon Women in Mining Association (YukonWIM) and the Yukon Aboriginal Women’s Council (YAWC).
This important event brought together industry, community, and advocacy leaders to discuss critical issues shaping the Yukon’s mineral sector. Conversations focused on creating safe and inclusive environments through awareness and action on gender-based violence, bystander intervention, and the development of both physical and psychological spaces where everyone feels respected and heard.
